TN-58A/TN-58B – Electrical Upgrades at the Service Building and Lighting Improvements at the Queens Approach of Throgs Neck Bridge
The project consists of electrical upgrades at the Throgs Neck Bridge Service Building and lighting improvements along the Queens Approach, executed under two separate Design-Bid-Build contracts. TN-58A focuses on lighting conversion to LED, new pole installations with CCTV integration, and fiber optic routing, while TN-58B upgrades emergency power systems, including ATS reconfiguration, generator integration, and related civil works. Key challenges include maintaining traffic safety during construction, integrating new systems into existing infrastructure, and ensuring uninterrupted facility operations. SCE as a subconsultant, provided project management and electrical field inspection services, including schedule and cost compliance, commissioning oversight, and coordination with TBTA maintenance.
