Newark Liberty International Airport – NEC Access Station
The project involves supporting the design of a new Northeast Corridor Access Station at Newark Liberty International Airport by implementing smoke management strategies for safe access to the existing EWR Rail-Link Station. Challenges include modeling complex airflow and smoke behavior in a multi-modal transit facility, coordinating evolving design inputs, and ensuring compliance with life safety and code requirements in a high-traffic environment. As a subconsultant, SC Engineers is responsible for developing 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models, performing smoke analysis, providing design recommendations, and supporting high-level cost estimating throughout the design phases.
