Lucio Rivera, PE, is the Director of Rail & Transit and Traction Power Engineer at SC Engineers PC, where he leads all rail & transit design and construction management services. He brings over 20 years of experience delivering complex transit, transportation, rail, station, tunnel, and water infrastructure projects throughout the New York metropolitan region. His expertise includes traction power systems, substations, electrical power distribution, SCADA integration, utility coordination, emergency power systems, testing and commissioning, and systems integration within active operating environments. He has supported major agencies including MTA Construction & Development, New York City Transit, MTA Bridges & Tunnels, Long Island Rail Road, NJ Transit, Amtrak, and NYC DEP. Mr. Rivera serves as an Electrical Traction Power design lead, Project Manager, and Substation Commissioning Manager on many of SC Engineers’ projects. He is also a Nationally Certified Tunnel Inspector (NCTI). Mr. Rivera holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College and a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the National Polytechnic School of Ecuador. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in NY, NJ, CT, VA, FL, MA, and DC.
