JUNIOR INSPECTOR (MEP)

The ideal candidate as a Junior MEP Inspector will be observant and attentive to detail. The prime responsibilities of a Junior Inspector include ensuring compliance with all contract documents, enforcing regulations that pertain to the construction, observing work in progress to assure conformance with requirements, and acceptable workmanship.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures contractors compliance with Contract Documents.
  • Report to the Senior Engineer on the status of the project, including any issues that occurred.
  • Perform field inspections to monitor contractor’s progress, workmanship and general conformance with the contract documents.
  • Reviews design, safety, quality plans and all construction phase submittals associated with the Project.
  • Develops daily, weekly, monthly reports to the Senior Engineer on the status of the project, including any issues that occurred.
  • Works with Senior Engineer to review requests for change from the field.
  • Conforms to Safety Site Specific Work Plan (SSSWP) to ensure safety of the job
  • Communicates and implements safety rules, policies, and procedures in support of the corporation’s safety vision and goals.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical or other relevant Engineering
  • 0-5 years relevant work experience required.
  • Must have the ability to coordinate efforts with other technical disciplines and have knowledge of reading contract plans and review construction schedules.
  • Possess strategic and tactical skills required for planning and executing complex project work.
  • Effective communication, motivation, and team performance skills required
  • Demonstrated experience in using PC-based word processing and spreadsheet (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) sufficient to prepare daily reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MS degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
  • Work experience in multidisciplinary project setting.
  • Certifications by the International Code Council (ICC/ICBO), e.g. Building Inspector, Plumbing Code, Electrical Code, Mechanical Code, Plans Review.
  • Demonstrated construction experience on bridges, highways, and/or railroad environments
