WCAS Radio and Telecom Upgrades
The project is a long-term infrastructure initiative aimed at improving
wireless connectivity, safety, and operational efficiency across the NYCT
and Staten Island Railway (SIR) systems. The project spans
approximately 10 years and includes phased installation of wireless and
fiber systems within tunnels, stations, and above-ground areas, along with
station entrance enhancements and related infrastructure upgrades.
Performing as the Consultant Construction Manager (CCM) team
oversees multiple contractors working concurrently across multiple shifts,
including overnight and weekend General Orders (GOs). The project
scope involves both linear and ad hoc work elements, requiring close
coordination with Boldyn Networks and other ongoing MTA initiatives.
As a subconsultant, SC Engineers is providing field inspection services
for both wireless and fiber installation activities, while also supporting
NYCT operations during GOs.
