Description:

Sunnyside Yard Static Frequency Converter Station is one of Amtrak’s converter stations providing 25Hz traction power from New York to Philadelphia. SCE staff have served as the owners project manager in the development of 30% Preliminary Engineering (PE) design and bridging documents to solicit a Design/Build contractor tasked to complete the final design, furnish, install, test, and commission all equipment required to modify and upgrade the existing station from 30 MVA to 60 MVA. The construction scope includes partial demolition and reconstruction of existing building, civil, structural, electrical, fire alarm/protection, mechanical, plumbing, input/output power equipment, SFC control system, SCADA updates, ancillary equipment, phasing and cut-over.
