RFK Bridge Suspended Span and Anchorage Structural Rehabilitation
The RK-19A project involved suspended span structural steel crack study and repair for bridge modifications and upgrades. Design- Build construction scope elements included stringer prototype final design and construction, structural health monitoring, wind tunnel testing to meet flutter speed requirements, widening of bridge walkways for dual use, new ADA ramp, bridge lighting upgrades, structural steel improvements, main cable dehumidification, anchorage cable bent rehab & waterproofing upgrades, and bridge coating. As the MTA owner’s representative and part of the Program Management Team, SC Engineers provided project management, design and constructability reviews, oversight of peer reviews and resident engineering staff, and cost & schedule & risk management throughout the project.
